Google sign-in
Choose the Google account you used to create your Android Fried Chicken account. Check your internet connection and try again if sign-in fails. If you have lost access to that Google account, use Google’s account-recovery process.
Google and Apple sign-ins create separate Fried Chicken accounts. Matching email addresses do not link them, and signing in with Google does not restore an Apple/iOS account’s progress.
If you need help, email hello@getfriedchicken.com with your full Fried Chicken username/tag, app version, phone model and a description of the issue. Do not send passwords, Google tokens or raw health records.
Health Connect availability and permissions
Fried Chicken needs Health Connect and permission to read steps for its step features. Use your phone’s personal profile; Android work profiles are not supported. On Android 13 or earlier, you may need to install or update Health Connect first. Availability also depends on your device.
- Open Health Connect from Android settings to review Fried Chicken’s permissions. If step access is missing, you can also choose Profile → Health Connect in Fried Chicken.
- Check that Fried Chicken is allowed to read steps. Review access to older history if your device offers it.
- Return to Fried Chicken and refresh your steps. If Health Connect needs an update, complete it and try again.
Without Health Connect access, you can still set up your account and use social features, but step features are paused. Granting permission cannot create records that are missing from Health Connect.
Which steps count?
The current Android app accepts only supported native-phone Health Connect records with an eligible recording method and phone source. Check Profile → Step eligibility for an explanation of the eligibility rules.
Manual entries, records with unknown recording methods, unsupported sources and non-phone records do not count. Fried Chicken does not directly connect to Samsung Health, Fitbit, Garmin or watches. A total being visible in Health Connect does not necessarily make it eligible for Fried Chicken.
Limited history and delayed synchronisation
The current supported history begins on 1 January 2026. Available history depends on your device, permissions and the records present. Without supported and granted history access, older dates may be unavailable or incomplete. Fried Chicken cannot promise complete lifetime history.
If today’s total or a league result looks behind, open the app, check connectivity and Health Connect access, then use Refresh steps on Home. Use Refresh history in Progress when shown. Health Connect reads happen while you use the app; continuous background health reading is not enabled.
Totals may still take time to synchronise or pass verification. Goals, streaks and rankings can change as eligible data is received. Play Integrity verifies app/request context, not whether each step represents real walking.
Friends and invitations
Use Profile → Add friends. Enter the full Fried Chicken username, including the # and four-digit tag, or use an available invitation option. Check incoming requests and choose Accept or Decline.
If an invitation fails, check that you are signed into the intended account and ask the sender for a fresh invitation. Links can expire or become unavailable. If a link does not open as expected on your device, use the full username/tag to find the person instead.
Use the available Report or Block action on a user if you encounter harassment, impersonation or suspicious activity. Contact support if you cannot access the relevant control.
Joining Groups
Android supports joining existing Groups. Open Groups, choose Join via invite, paste the Group invitation link and choose Preview invite. Depending on the Group, the next action may be Join Group or Request to join.
A request may need approval. A Group may be full, or the invitation may have expired or been withdrawn. Contact the person who invited you if you need another link. Group creation and management are not available in this Android version.
Global and Local League visibility
Android accounts automatically participate in Global League. Your username and eligible step totals can appear worldwide; there is no Global opt-out in the Android app.
For Local League, open Profile → League privacy → Appear in Local League. You can change Local visibility separately and select your region manually. This does not request GPS access or turn off Global participation.
Advertising choices and notifications
The app includes AdMob banner, native and interstitial ads, subject to availability and consent requirements. Only eligible signed-in users aged 18 or older can receive ad requests. Under-18, unknown-age and signed-out users are excluded.
When Google requires a privacy-options entry point, open Profile → Data → Ad privacy choices to revisit the choices provided by Google UMP. The control is not shown in every state or location. See the Android privacy policy for SDK processing details.
Android push registration and delivery are currently disabled in production. Notification preferences or controls in the app do not mean push delivery is live. Reinstalling the app will not enable a disabled service.
Deleting your Android account
If you can sign in, use Profile → Account actions → Delete account → Continue → Delete permanently. If the app cannot confirm completion, retry or contact support; do not assume the account was deleted merely because you tapped the button.
If you cannot access the app, request account deletion here. The page explains secure ownership verification, what is removed and limited retention exceptions. You do not need to reinstall Fried Chicken to send a request.
Uninstalling or signing out does not delete the account. Deleting the Android account does not delete Health Connect records or a separate Apple/iOS Fried Chicken account.
